Free legal information and referral services for Massachusetts residents who are 60 years or older in various areas of civil law, including nursing homes, guardianship, MassHealth, Medicare, Social Security/SSI, and many others. If you are not eligible for a free attorney and have some ability to pay an attorney, you will be referred to a reduced fee attorney referral program where attorneys charge on a sliding scale based on your income. Helpline operates in collaboration with the Massachusetts Office of Elders Affairs and Volunteer Lawyers Project of Boston.
