Word-of-Mouth

You are not the first person to go through the process of considering a nursing home and, like when one has a baby or wants to buy a new car, everyone has opinions on what you should do.  That being said, getting information and perspectives from friends and other trusted sources is quite useful.

If you do not know anyone who has recently looked at nursing homes, Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets are a great way to find people.  You could simply post in your city/town’s neighborhood Facebook group and it is very likely you will find someone who has similar experiences and has some ideas to share.

There is nothing better than real-life experiences that are shared.  But remember, two families’ experiences could be quite different.  As with all sources of information, use the information as another data point in choosing a nursing home for yourself or your loved one.
